The
Honda Civic Coupe is a 2-door, 5-passenger subcompact coupe available in
five trims, ranging from the DX to the Si. The Honda Civic Coupe's
closest competitors include the Hyundai Accent, Mitsubishi Eclipse and
Volkswagen GTI.
Upon introduction, the Honda Civic Coupe DX is equipped with a standard
1.6-liter, I4, 106-horsepower engine that consumes 32-mpg in the city
and 37-mpg on the highway. The Honda Civic Coupe Si is equipped with a
standard 1.6-liter, I4, 160-horsepower engine that consumes 26-mpg in
the city and 31-mpg on the highway. A 5-speed manual transmission with
overdrive is standard on both Honda Civic Coupe trims, while a 4-speed
automatic transmission with Honda's Grade Logic (which selects and holds
the appropriate gear when traveling up or down hills) is optional on the
Honda Civic Coupe DX and EX.
