Entering its seventh generation, the Toyota Celica returns completely redesigned for the 2000 model year. It is based on the XYR, Toyota's California-designed concept car. It is available in two models, the Celica GT and GT-S. The new Toyota Celica is shorter in length and longer in wheelbase than the previous model. The sportier Celica GT-S is powered by a 1.8L four-cylinder engine which generates 180 horsepower and 133 lbs./ft. of torque. It features Variable Valve Timing and Lift with intelligence control (VVTL-i) to improve output and fuel efficiency. Available options include side impact airbags, leather interior, sunroof, rear spoiler, alloy wheels, anti-lock brakes and a premium 3-in-1 combo stereo/CD/cassette sound system. An All-Weather Package is also available. |
