The Toyota Tundra 4x4 is a 2- or 4-door, up to 6-passenger, full-size pickup truck available in four trims, ranging from the SR5 Regular Cab to the Limited Access Cab. The Toyota Tundra's closest competitors include the Dodge Ram, Ford F-150, GMC All-New Sierra and Chevrolet Silverado. According to Toyota, "Tundra sets new standards in quality, value and safety features that have come to be expected in a passenger car."

Upon introduction, the Toyota Tundra SR5 Regular Cab is equipped with a standard 3.4-liter, V6, 190-horsepower engine that consumes 15-mpg in the city and 18-mpg on the highway. A 5-speed manual transmission with overdrive is standard, while a 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is optional. The Toyota Tundra Limited Access Cab is equipped with a standard 4.7-liter, V8, 245-horsepower engine that consumes 14-mpg in the city and 17-mpg on the highway. A 4-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission with overdrive is standard.
